  • Check of the Falcon motherboard and PSU before recapping is begun.
  • Removal of existing capacitors.
  • Clean-up and preparation of area.
  • Replace using Panasonic/Wurth/KEMET capacitors.
  • Retest (Video, Audio, Floppy Boot) using diagnostic cartridge.

We also provide a recapping service for the  Atari 520 STe / 1040 STE / 4160 STE

 

What do you need to send?

All we need is the mainboard and PSU, so please only send the board and PSU in its metal shielding. If however you choose to send the whole unit, there is an option to do that also via the choices below.

  • FREE return postage of your recapped A1000 PSU (tracked).
Recapping the Amiga 1000 PSU is a good preventive measure, the reason being these capacitors are under alot of stress (which they are designed to take of course) however with age they start getting tired which could lead to issues later on. All that needs to be sent is the Amiga 1000 PSU itself.

Sega Game Gear Recapping Service
Sega Game Gear recapping service for all board revisions. This service is a maintinace service and not a repair service however recapping can bring back to life your Sega Game Gear if it shows the following symptoms:
  • No or distorted sound
  • Unresponsive Game Gear when powered on
  • Dull or no image
The service includes:
  • Testing of Sega Game Gear via power socket or batteries.
  • Removal of all old surface and through hole capacitors.
  • Any leakage cleaned up and prep.
  • Replacement Electrolytic capacitors soldered in place (Power board, Sound Board and Main board)
  • Final testing and video taken of unit working.
Please note recapping will not:
  • Dead screen pixels.
  • Vertical screen lines.
  • Unexpected shut downs.
Display issues are down to a failing/dead display, the only solution is to install a replacement upgraded display.
NOTE: This is not a repair service. If a recap is performed and issues are still apparent, the recap service is still chargeable.
