NOTE Cases may have a 520 STFM Badge but all our Atari STFM will have 1Mb of ram minimum.

 

What is Refurbished?

The Atari STFM mainboard has been professionally recapped PSU. Each unit is thoroughly inspected and tested including:

  • Full Keyboard check.
  • Floppy drive read and write test.
  • Sound checked.
  • Video checked.
  • Case and keyboard is stripped and cleaned.

We can also perform the following Atari STFM fixs if required – ask for further details

  • 10K pull up resistor network to the DMA databus.
  • 1772 Pull up Resistors added.
  • STFM Reset fix 22uF added across C100.
  • Bus resistors replaced with 2.2k resistor arrays.
  • Full motherboard recap.

Each Commodore Amiga 500 + (PLUS) mainboard is professionally recapped and deep cleaned using a Ultrasonic cleaner, bathed using deionised water and professional grade PCB/Flux cleaning solution. Once completed it is dried and a full diagnostic test is completed. Each unit is thoroughly inspected make sure the Amiga 500 + (PLUS) worked as it did when it first came from the factory back in the 1980’s. Case and keyboard is stripped and cleaned but due to age may show signs of use and age.   What is Ultrasonic cleaning? Ultrasonic cleaning is a process that uses ultrasound (usually from 20–40 kHz) to agitate a fluid, this fluid is made up for this specific job which is to clean and remove any flux left over from recapping. We use deionised water (deionized depending where your from) and professional grade PCB cleaner. Amiga A1200 Motherboard – Refurbished
Amiga A1200 motherboard fully refurbished (various motherboard revisions). Each A1200 motherboard is professionally refurbished and has had the following work completed:
  • Tested before any work has began.
  • All electrolytic capacitors removed using professional tools and techniques (no twisting off caps and boards a pre-warmed before the removing capacitors using hot air) this puts far less stress to the board itself.
  • Pads cleaned with flux/wick/IPA.
  • New electrolytic capacitors installed using our premium polymer capacitors.
  • Modulator removed.
  • Timing fix applied for ACA , TF1230, TF1260 Accelerator Cards.
  • Board retested - Video (composite and RGB), Audio, CIA, Floppy, IDE, Parallel, Serial, Mouse, Joystick, DF1.
  • Board ultrasonic cleaned at 60 degrees using deionised water and professional PCB flux cleaner and then dried.
  • Board tested again and tested for a minimum of 4 hrs playing a rolling demo.

Atari 520 STF / 1040 STF Recapping Service inc PSU
Atari 520 STF / 1040 STF recapping service including recapping of STF PSU, all board revisions. This service includes both recapping of the Atari STF motherboard and PSU.
  • Check of the STF motherboard and PSU before recapping is begun.
  • Removal of existing capacitors.
  • Clean-up and preparation of area.
  • Replace using Panasonic/Wurth/KEMET capacitors.
  • Retest (Video, Audio, Floppy Boot) using diagnostic cartridge.
We also provide a recapping service for the  Atari 520 STe / 1040 STE / 4160 STE   What do you need to send? All we need is the mainboard and PSU, so please only send the board and PSU in its metal shielding. If however you choose to send the whole unit, there is an option to do that also via the choices below.
