Amiga A1200 motherboard fully refurbished (various motherboard revisions). Each A1200 motherboard is professionally refurbished and has had the following work completed:

  • Tested before any work has began.
  • All electrolytic capacitors removed using professional tools and techniques (no twisting off caps and boards a pre-warmed before the removing capacitors using hot air) this puts far less stress to the board itself.
  • Pads cleaned with flux/wick/IPA.
  • New electrolytic capacitors installed using our premium polymer capacitors.
  • Modulator removed.
  • Timing fix applied for ACA , TF1230, TF1260 Accelerator Cards.
  • Board retested – Video (composite and RGB), Audio, CIA, Floppy, IDE, Parallel, Serial, Mouse, Joystick, DF1.
  • Board ultrasonic cleaned at 60 degrees using deionised water and professional PCB flux cleaner and then dried.
  • Board tested again and tested for a minimum of 4 hrs playing a rolling demo.

 

What is Ultrasonic cleaning?

Ultrasonic cleaning is a process that uses ultrasound (usually from 20–40 kHz) to agitate a fluid, this fluid is made up for this specific job which is to clean and remove any flux left over from recapping. We use deionised water (deionized depending where your from) and professional grade PCB cleaner.

Prerequisites 
  • Timing fix is strongly recommended on your A1200 motherboard. We can do this free of charge if you send your board to us (return shipping does need to be covered).
  • Kickstart ROM 3.1, 3.1.4, 3.2, 3.x or 3.9 (not compatible with 3.0).
  • Some boards do not have a chamfered edge on the connector (1A and 1B boards) which may bend the connector pins, if your unsure please ask.

  • Professionally refurbished Amiga 1200 Unit (excluding mouse and PSU, these are options that can be added below).
  What is refurbished? Each Commodore Amiga 1200 mainboard is professionally recapped (standard or Polymer is available at extra cost) and deep cleaned using a Ultrasonic cleaner, bathed using deionised water and professional grade PCB/Flux cleaning solution. Once completed it is dried and a full diagnostic test is completed. Each unit is thoroughly inspected make sure the Amiga 1200 worked as it did when it first came from the factory back in the 1990’s, case and keyboard is stripped and cleaned but due to age may show signs of use. Each Amiga 1200 is refurbished to the customers specifications, with that in mind each unit can take 14/21 working days to prepare and test depending on demand.   What is Ultrasonic cleaning? AmigaOS 3.2 CD-Rom contains all disks and AmigaOS Kickstart ROMs so these can be transferred to real floppy disks or Gotek drives. The kickstarts can be used in any emulation environment like WINUAE or if your accelerator card has a MapRom feature, the kickstart Roms can be used with that function also. We also offer burning of AmigaOS 3.2 kickstart's to EPROMS if you want physical kickstart roms. This allows the Amiga user to install AmigaOS 3.2 on many different Amigas at the same time without having to purchasing any additional licences. AmigaOS 3.2 CD-ROM contents can be copied "as is" to an Amiga formatted hard drive and booted right away for installation thanks to the "Amiga Preinstallation Environment" (AmigaPE), we also offer pre-installed CF Cards. Minimum hardware requirements

  • Kickstart ROM 3.2 (recommended), 3.1.4 , or older 3.1
  • 2 MB of total memory. Total memory is calculated by adding Chip RAM and Fast RAM. Consider an additional half megabyte if you are not using a physical Kickstart ROM 3.2.
  • 10 MB of free hard disk space.

AmigaOS 3.2.3 (Released April 2025)

AmigaOS 3.2.3 is available free of charge from the Hyperon website for those that have registered their copy of AmigaOS 3.2 via the Hyperon website. Here are the highlights of the new features and fixes of AmigaOS 3.2.3:

  • TextEditor now allows users to define a custom menu with macros.
  • 12 KB of chip RAM is no longer reserved.
  • A new Kickstart 3.2.3 ROM.
