ACA1234 Amiga Accelerator
ACA1234 Amiga A1200 Accelerator 68030 128Mb Fast Ram
ACA1234 Amiga A1200 accelerator is the latest 68030 CPU based card from Individual Computers. This is far more than just another 68030 accelerator, it adds high-speed mass storage, improving the overall speed experience of your A1200 even more than the IDE speeder does, which is also available on this model. With 8MBytes of local flash memory and a local CF card slot, the ACA1234 is ideal for the hobbyist or power user. While iComps IDE speeder technology accelerates the onboard internal IDE port to raw transfer rates of up to 14MBytes/s (resulting in every-day performance of around 5MBytes/s with CF cards, or up to 9MB/s with physical hard drives), the ACA1234 onboard CF card slot can exceed 9MBytes/s. Other than competing products, both options do not require opening the computer or even removing chips from their socket. The IDE speedup to PIO mode 4 is activated with a software setting. NOTE: The IDE speeder feature is not available if connected to an ACA500Plus. The ACA1234 boards take memory performance to the limit of what a 68030 processor can transfer in a burst sequence: It's a sequence of four 32-bit transfers in four CPU cycles, You therefore get the best performance per MHz compared to other 68030 accelerators both modern and and legacy 68030 designs. In addition to that, the ACA1234 makes sure that the exec base in burst-capable, cacheable 32-bit fastmem. Another huge improvement over older accelerators is memory mapping to the legacy 0x00c0.0000 address. This is the location where many A500 games expect a trapdoor memory expansion. The ACA1234 cards give a good compatibility boost only because of this little chunk of memory in the right place. The ACA1234 is PCMCIA-friendly: It will not disable the onboard PCMCIA slot, so you can continue to use a networking card or a CF card adapter in that slot. For the easiest-possible transfer of files, drivers for a PCMCIA-CF card reader are included in the flash of this accelerator card. You can access PC-formatted and Amiga-formatted cards with ease, straight out of the box. you can even boot from a CF card in the PCMCIA slot.. Customers who are returning to the "hobby Amiga" often have the problem of lost installation disks, or even a defective floppy drive after all these years. Installing a system becomes almost impossible in such cases. The ACA1234 includes media to install a system in such a case as well: Both ROM and install disks (Workbench 3.1) are licensed from Hyperion and included in the flash of the ACA1234. The installer, which has been successfully used with the ACA500Plus and Buddha Plus One IDE Controller as well, installs a system way faster than it will ever be possible with floppy drives - and it only take a few mouse clicks. This includes automatic partitioning of media that's larger than 4GBytes! All features
  1. 127 MByte RAM auto-configuration
  2. 1 MByte RAM reserved for fast Kickstart re-mapping (you can also kickstart from other roms including 3.2).
  3. 8 MByte flash for installation files and Kickstart ROMs
  4. Local CF card slot as high-speed mass storage
  5. IDE speeder technology for read and write
  6. Drivers for PCMCIA-CF card reader in flash
  7. ROM and OS 3.1 in flash, extremely fast system installation
  8. Clock rate can be reduced (reset required)
  9. Card enable/disable in software without power-cycling
  10. Faster clockport gives 55% speed increase
  11. Field-proven high A1200 compatibility
Memory of the ACA1234 is auto-configuring. This means that all memory is available from a power-up without installing any software on the computer. If you do not require full speed, the card can be slowed down in order to save power or reduce heat. You can also increase the speed beyond rated clock rate for a trial period - if you find that your CPU can accept a certain level of overclocking, you can purchase a permanent overclocking license. Some software does not like accelerated execution. For these cases, the ACA1234 can be switched off and put into a "stealth mode": This will allow you to run such software without having to remove the accelerator. Returning to 68030 operation does not require the computer to be power-cycled. The clockport of the ACA1234 can either take an RTC module, or a different clock port device. Operation of such a clock port device is 55% faster than with the internal clock port of the A1200 computer, provided the drivers support the address of this port. This function is available in all modes of operation on an A1200 computer, and on select ACA500plus models with updated CPLD. Last not least, the ACA1234 features iComp's field-proven A1200 motherboard interface. Some A1200 main boards have been delivered with the wrong timing components and require modification for reliable use with accelerators. With our interface, the ACA1234 is less likely to require these board patches. Although the ACA1234 will work reliably with any patch level of the A1200 main board, you may still want to perform these patches, as they also fix graphics glitches with Super-Hires resolutions of the AGA chipset.   Package contains:
  • Accelerator with RAM and CPU assembled
  • Short installation manual
You will need in addition to that:
  • Motherboard patches as described by Commodore: A1200 capacitors E123C and E125C may need to be removed.
  • A proper power supply that provides good regulation, even when loaded with expansions like the CA-PSU
  • If desired, a PCMCIA-CF card reader
Processors on this card are used and have scratches.   Image showing the ACA1234 50Mhz version. 25Mhz CPU is copper top. 33Mhz is a black ceramic CPU

ACA500 Plus Enclousure/Case Amiga
ACA500Plus Individual Computers Amiga A500 A500 Plus
ACA500plus for the Amiga A500 and A500 Plus is the successor to the popular ACA500. The ACA500plus is an external expansion which is plugged to the left expansion port of your A500 or A500+. There is no need to open the computer at any time. This includes a new revolutionary method that can turn your 512k trapdoor memory expansion into chipram! If your Amiga is equipped with an ECS Agnus chip and said internal 512k memory expansion, you can turn your computer into a 1MByte-Chipram computer, just by selecting a menu item in the configuration menu of the ACA500plus! A lot of stock A500 computers with board revision 6 or higher have this exact configuration. The ACA500Plus houses a MC68HC000 processor clocked at 14.1MHz as standard, This will give your computer more than a double-speed boost. If that's not enough, you can choose overclocking to 21, 28 or even 42MHz. Overclocking success is not guaranteed. By attaching an ACA12xx or Blizzard 12xx accelerator, you can make your A500 faster than a stock A3000. The ACA500plus comes with essential software pre-installed in it's large flash. This includes fully licensed Kickstart versions V1.2 and V1.3 for backwards-compatibility, and Kickstart V3.1. You can install a fresh copy of Workbench 3.1 using the built in installer which is included within the ACA500Plus. All you need is an empty CF card, and you can install OS3.1 with a few key presses. After that's done, you can use the second CF card slot to exchange data with a modern PC: The ACA500plus supports PC-formatted cards and long filenames out of the box, no special installation required. CF cards are handled like hard disks on the Amiga-side. You can use HDtoolbox or HDinsttools - whatever you prefer. Even the two popular 64-bit addressing modes are implemented: Both TD64 and NSD64 command sets are supported, so whatever your preferred filesystem requires, you can use it on your ACA500plus setup to access flash cards that are larger than 4GBytes. Speed-wise, the CF card slots are faster than most hard disk controllers that are available for other Amiga computers. The ACA500plus even outperforms the SCSI controller of an A3000! Many users will want to use the ACA500plus with the popular WHDload software, which lets you install games on CF cards instead of swapping floppy disks if you want to play a different game. WHDload lists the 68010 processor as a minimum requirement for using the Quit-key and return to the Amiga's Workbench. The ACA500plus has special circuitry that lets you use the WHDload quit-key at any time, although you "only" have a 68HC000 processor. This is supported by WHDload V17.2 and higher. Advanced floppy control: If your computer has a defective or even a missing floppy drive, the ACA500plus can handle this. With the built-in "boot selector" circuitry, you can turn an external drive into a fully-compatible df0: drive. In addition to that, the floppy control functions allow you to make external drives invisible, although they do not have an off-switch. This saves you the work of (un)plugging drives in order to make older floppy-based software compatible. The ACA500plus features three expansion ports:
  1. A1200-compatible clockport
  2. local 16-bit expansion port
  3. A1200 CPU card connector
The A1200-compatible clockport can be used for expansions that were initially designed for the clockport of the A1200, for example Catweasel MK2, Delfina or RapidRoad. Please note that some drivers may require patching in order to work on a non-A1200 computer. Contact the vendor of your A1200 expansion to find out if they provide such a driver. The fast 16-bit local expansion port is reserved for our network expansion X-Surf-500. The A1200 CPU card connector is meant for further CPU and RAM upgrades. It is guaranteed to work with our ACA1220, ACA1221(ec, lc), ACA1232, ACA1233(n) and ACA1234 models. Our older ACA1230 accelerators are not supported. We will therefore only answer support questions about ACA1220, ACA1221(ec, lc), ACA1232, ACA1233(n) and ACA1234 accelerators. The same applies to old Blizzard accelerators by Phase 5: IComp have done their best to make them work, but there are limits to what we can do. Please keep in mind that the A500 is a 16-bit architecture, and the Blizzard accelerators have been developed for the 32-bit architecture of the A1200. Another new feature of the ACA500plus is it's capability to make use of a real time clock (RTC) that an A1200 accelerator provides. This keeps the clock port of the ACA500plus free for other uses. Further, an RTC that is located on the trapdoor expansion of your A500 can be used. This kind of flexibility was not available on the predecessor ACA500. With all these expansions, certain software may be incompatible. However, this is not a reason to unplug the ACA500plus, as it features an advanced cloaking mode that lets you downgrade the computer to standard memory configurations with minimal expansions (like Action Replay) or even no expansions at all, your choice of Kickstart ROM, running at the original 7MHz speed. Even if your computer does not have an internal 512k trapdoor memory expansion, the ACA500plus can not only add this, but even emulate the cycle-exact speed of the internal expansion with the same slow-down effects that an internal memory expansion has. In other words: There is no reason to unplug the ACA500plus at any time.   Package includes:
  • ACA500plus with DisMo, 68HC000, 8MB RAM, 8MB Flash
  • Short instruction manual German/English
Software included in the flash ROM:
  • Kickstart V1.2, V1.3, V3.1
  • Full OS3.1 disk set with fully automatic installer
  • Action Replay 3 (patched for ACA500plus)
  • HRTmon
  • Thor's 040/060 libraries as resident modules
  • Thor's mmu and memory libraries
  • Network software, TCP/IP Stack for X-Surf-500
Enclosure/Case is NOT included but available as an option.   Note: ** We don't support or advise the use of the Meanwell PSU or its variants unless its an original Amiga PSU l that has been recapped (better), AT PSU or the CA-PSU. The primary reason is the PSU is the heart of the Amiga and reading the Individual Computers forum, the PSU is the 2nd item to question if there are issues. The number one issue is the socket on the Indivision is not pushed down enough as it does require a lot of pressure. Full explanation regarding the PSU is here   If you have any questions just contact us

Indivision MK3 AGA for Amiga A1200 and A4000T
Indivision AGA MK3 Flickerfixer for A1200 and A4000T
Indivision AGA MK3 for the A1200 and A4000T* (Not A4000D Desktop) providing both a VGA connection or HDMI so you have the flexibility of using a CRT/LCD PC monitor with VGA or a large TV with HDMI in. All Amiga screen modes are supported and can be sent to a digital or analogue monitor at almost any frame rate (with the exception of A2024 monitor modes). Either using standard VESA modes or using custom output frequencies and size at the user's choice. Even custom screen modes like HighGFX can be used. Workbench resolutions of 1280x1024 pixels are possible without buying a dedicated graphics card. Indivision AGA Mk3 is plugged over the Lisa chip and a second connection over the CIA chip to route keyboard signals to the flicker fixer. You can now make small adjustments to the output picture format including positioning and resizing of the output picture without the need to load the configuration tool. You can simply open the on screen menu using a hot-key combination make adjustments with the keyboard or mouse and then exit this live configuration menu, all this without leaving the game or demo that's currently running. Output screen modes can be saved "per input screen mode", so you can adjust your favourite Workbench resolution perfectly, while not affecting the settings you've chosen for PAL and NTSC games. Settings are saved in the flash of the flicker fixer, so they survive a reboot and/or power-cycle of the computer this allows you to "zap" through pre-sets that are ideal for a specific game or demo. With this you can adjust on the fly different settings for the built-in scanline effect, or you can compare the scaling capabilities of your monitor with the new built-in scaler of Indivision AGA MK3. The Indivision also has automatic monitor recognition, the configuration tool can detect what size of monitor is connected and make suggestions for ideal output frequencies that are within the specifications of the monitor. This reduces the "first setup" to a matter of minutes, maybe even seconds if you're using one of the pre-sets for popular display panel sizes that we provide.   What's included:
  1. Indivision AGA Mk3 for A1200/A4000T(*)
  2. Adapter board for high-definition digital (HDMI) and VGA output
  3. Adapter board for CIA chip
  4. Connection cables between all boards
  5. Short instructions
In addition, you will require:
  1. Screwdriver to open your computer
  2. A way to transfer the configuration tool (free download from our wiki)
  3. HighGFX software package from Aminet (free download for higher Workbench resolutions)
(*)This flickerfixer will not fit into an A4000T out-of-the-box. Component CE164C gets in the way of the output cable connector and must be replaced with a lower-profile version prior to installing the flickerfixer. We recommend to do this before you order the product.   Note: ** We don't support or advise the use of the Meanwell PSU or its variants unless its an original Amiga PSU l that has been recapped (better), AT PSU or the CA-PSU. With the only exception of A2024 monitor modes, all Amiga screen modes are supported and can be sent to a digital or analogue monitor at almost any frame rate, either using standard VESA modes, or using custom output frequencies and size at the user's choice. Even custom screen modes like HighGFX can be used: Workbench resolutions of 1280x1024 pixels are possible without buying a graphics card. Further, Indivision AGA MK3 supports synchronisation of the output signal with the computer's V-Sync signal, which was not possible with the predecessor models. This allows silky-smooth animations and perfect scrolling without tearing. These fully synchronised modes may not be compatible with all VGA- or DVI monitors (mainly because they are 50Hz for PAL machines), but 50Hz is standard for all TVs with high-definition digital input. Indivision AGA Mk3 is plugged over the Lisa chip. For the first time, a second (optional!) connection is required to take advantage of all features of the product: An additional adapter is clipped on top of a CIA chip to route keyboard signals to the flicker fixer. This gives way for a huge practical improvement over previous versions of the flicker fixer: You can now make small adjustments to the output picture format, including positioning and resizing of the output picture without the need to load the configuration tool. You can now open a simple menu using a hot-key combination, make adjustments with the keyboard or mouse and then exit this live configuration menu - all this without leaving the game or demo that's currently running. Output screen modes can be saved "per input screen mode", so you can adjust your favourite Workbench resolution perfectly, while not affecting the settings you've chosen for PAL and NTSC games. Settings are saved in the flash of the flicker fixer, so they survive a reboot and/or power-cycle of the computer. As opposed to Indivision AGA MK2, more than one output mode can be saved, and instead of making manual adjustments using the live configuration menu described before, you can just "zap" through pre-sets that are ideal for a specific game or demo. This allows you to see the difference of intensity settings for the built-in scanline effect, or you can compare the scaling capabilities of your monitor with the new built-in scaler of Indivision AGA MK3. Another improvement over the predecessor is automatic monitor recognition: The configuration tool can detect what size of monitor is connected and make suggestions for ideal output frequencies that are within the specifications of the monitor. This reduces the "first setup" to a matter of minutes. Whats included:
  1. Flickerfixer for A4000D(*)/CD32(**)
  2. Adapter board for high-definition digital and VGA output
  3. Adapter board for CIA chip
  4. Connection cables between all boards
  5. Stainless steel back plate for HDMI/VGA output
  6. Short instructions
  7. A transfer method for the configuration tool (free download from individual Computers wiki)
  8. (Optional) HighGFX software package from Aminet (free download for higher Workbench resolutions)
(*)This flickerfixer will only fit into an A4000D after jumper J214 has been bent aside. This jumper was meant for a future chipset that was never released. (**)For installation in a CD32, live config is only available if three solder-connections have been made, as this model does not have CIA chips. For accurate audio filter reproduction on HDMI TVs, a fourth solder connection must be made. Further, it was reported that select main boards of the CD have the crystal oscillator very close to the Lisa chip, requiring the user to move the part to the side by a fraction of a millimeter. A soldering iron may be required to accomplish this.
