ACE2b Amiga A500 A2000 2Mb Chipram Upgrade

ACE2b Amiga Chipram Extender 2MBytes. It is installed in the socket of the Fat Agnus chip of your OCS/ECS Amiga. It is compatible with these Amiga models:

  • A500 up to board rev. 7
  • A1500 and A2000, Rev. 4.1 and higher
  • CDTV
  • A2500 Rev. 4.1 and higher
The unit requires no soldering, but does require the removal of the existing AGNUS chip from the motherboard. The ACE2b then simply slots in to the existing AGNUS socket and the GARY adapter is socketed between the GARY socket and the GARY chip. The ACE2b is jumpeless and does not rely on existing memory to be present so no ram is required in the trapdoor of the A500 as the ACE2b has the full 2Mb Chipram is located on the PCB itself, the chip ram on the main board of your Amiga will not be used any more. ACE2b uses an ECS Agnus 8375 (included) that is switchable between PAL and NTSC video mode by software. It is compatible with Genlock interfaces. ACE2b starts up in NTSC mode. If you own an ACA500 or ACA500plus, you can fix the video mode to your preferred setting.   What's included:

Prerequisites 
  • Timing fix is strongly recommended on your A1200 motherboard. We can do this free of charge if you send your board to us (return shipping does need to be covered).
  • Kickstart ROM 3.1, 3.1.4, 3.2, 3.x or 3.9 (not compatible with 3.0).
  • Some boards do not have a chamfered edge on the connector (1A and 1B boards) which may bend the connector pins, if your unsure please ask.

How are these brand new?
In 2016 840 Amiga users made it possible in supporting a Kickstarter to reproduce the Amiga 12000 case lead by Philippe Lang, the new A1200 cases are made using Injection Molding manufacturing technique to produce top and bottom shells as well as trapdoors and parts. The process implies the use of 3 new moulds, the first one is for the top shell, second mould for the bottom shell and last one for trapdoors and parts, all produced using brand new moulds.

The Amiga community has never died and some have produced some great add-ons over the years to make sure the Amiga is still relevant and useful today as it was back in the 80's/early 90s and these cases take full advantage of that weather that's simply transferring your existing motherboard from your existing Amiga 1200 or have a luxury of installing a MiST FPGA Board. ACA1221LC 16Mb 68EC020 26.67Mhz Accelerator Amiga A1200
ACA1221LC accelerator Amiga A1200 and ACA500Plus comes with the 68EC020 processor (guaranteed to run at 26.67MHz) and 16MBytes physical memory. 11.2MBytes of this physical memory can be used as fastmem, and 1 MByte is reserved for a fast copy of the Kickstart ROM. The CPU speed can be switched in four steps between 14MHz and 40MHz. Overclocking the card beyond 26.67MHz will require active cooling and a very good power supply like the A1200 Boost PSU or the highly specced CA-PSU ; operation at this high speed is not guaranteed. The ACA1221lc features iComps IDE speeder technology that accelerates reading from the internal IDE port, this IDE speeder does not require opening the computer or even removing chips from their socket. The IDE speedup to PIO mode 3 is activated with a software setting and reaches a raw data transfer rate of 10.2 MBytes per second, which results in every-day performance of 3.6MBytes/s with fast CF cards.
